CAPED 2020: A Clearer Vision for Our Future promotes a great opportunity to encourage members to think outside the box to the future of our students and our organization.”

With the annual conference approaching, it is important to recognize the value that this event brings forth. The annual conference is the Association’s hallmark event, drawing participants from around California  from both public and private two and four year educational institutions and representing many fields including education, government, law, research, and technology. Attendees converge for an exciting mix of learning, policy development and face-to-face networking.

While all relevant proposals are encouraged, CAPED seeks submissions in the following content areas:

  • Universal Design
  • Accessible Technology
  • Mental Health: Behavioral health and campus programs 
  • Emotional Support/Service Animals 
  • Veteran Services collaborating with DSPS 
  • Legal Aspects 
  • Enhancing Learning and Engagement Opportunities for Students with Disabilities
  • Transition and Career Outcomes for Students with Disabilities
  • Transition from 2 year to 4 year institutions 
  • State Initiatives: Guided Pathways, AB 705, College Promise (AB 2) and Strong Workforce
  • Institutional Responsibility vs DSPS responsibility 
  • DSPS participation in shared governance
  • Best Practices with working with disability specific populations
